Christopher Madara

The American House Hotel, Hamburg

$388,600 loan

PERSEVERANCE, INGENUITY AND A WHOLE LOT OF PASSION ARE THE DRIVING FORCES BEHIND CHRISTOPHER MADARA’S MASTERPIECE, THE AMERICAN HOUSE HOTEL.

An extensive background in construction paired with a physics degree from Drexel University have aided Mr. Madara in his entrepreneurial endeavors.  In 2003, Chris was already involved in the real estate industry when “the building picked me,” says Chris.  Dating back to 1806, the three-story Victorian building required extensive renovations; according to Chris, “everything that could go wrong in this process went wrong, but they went wrong the right way.”  Chris is a jack of all trades, from laying the brick facade himself, to choosing signature entrees for the restaurant, to creating the period tin ceilings that affirm the feeling of grandeur, to name a few.

Since its opening in March 2006, The American House Hotel has quickly gained popularity.  The restaurant is dedicated to individual customer service; rather than focusing on turning tables, the staff serve to impress all guests.  In January 2008 the hotel rooms were ready for guests, and Chris expects his clientele to expand exponentially.
