Amanda Sowards

Color Me Mine, Mechanicsburg
$95,000 loan

Color Me MineAMANDA LIKES HOT OR RAINY DAYS.

Inclement weather can help her fill up her 70 seat studio and give an unexpected boost to sales.  An artist by nature, Amanda Sowards is owner of Color Me Mine, an eclectic and colorful pottery studio that attracts children and adults of all ages.  Amanda promises that everyone, no matter their age or painting skill level, will have a fantastic time and a great finished product.  There are many techniques and specialty glazes that her staff of seven will teach you at no extra cost.

Amanda finds the personal relationships with customers to be very rewarding, as well as her commitment to keeping the business involved in non-profit work.  Color Me Mine is actively FUN-raising every month of the year to raise money for different charitable organizations.

Amanda was manager of the studio for two years before the opportunity arose for her to purchase the business.  She obtained a loan from Community First Fund in April.  “They were extremely helpful in supporting me through the transition.”  Amanda plans on taking Community First’s Core Four courses this fall.  “The best thing about owning this studio is giving the community a creative outlet for family fun!”
